My local fish and chips closed down
For the past ten odd years, I have been enjoying fabulous fish and chips from my local run fish and chips restaurant, operated by a Greek family who loving prepare every fillet; crispy on the outside and beautiful on the inside.
I must say, I do enjoy a night of fish and chips with ice cold beer πΊ.
Sadly those days are gone. Few weeks prior to Christmas, it closed down for good. I found out about it today and it has been bothering me all afternoon. Due to rising costs, running the business was no longer viable. I have noticed an increase in almost every day to day expenses.
This appears to be a trend in the last 6 months and it is likely going to get worse.
If you can, please support your local small business.
I may not know the people behind these businesses personally but I do feel connected to them and it feels terrible not to have them around.
Weirdly, this song comes to mind:
That's life
(That's life)
That's what all the people say
You're riding high in April, shot down in May
